Technology is moving fast — especially in real estate.
And this week, one of the biggest changes yet just rolled out: Zillow is now officially inside ChatGPT.
That means you can open ChatGPT and say something like,
“Show me 3-bedroom homes under $600,000 near Franklin with a big backyard,”
and instantly see Zillow listings — complete with photos, prices, and maps — without ever leaving the chat.
Pretty incredible, right?
It’s a big step forward for how we search for homes. But it’s also a reminder of something I see every day:
AI can help you search, but it can’t help you decide.


The Tech Is Smart — But It’s Not a Professional
Zillow’s new ChatGPT integration makes finding homes easier and faster than ever. You can use plain English to describe what you want and refine results in seconds.
It’s a fantastic tool for getting ideas, comparing price ranges, or exploring neighborhoods.
But here’s what it can’t do:
• Tell you whether the property is overpriced or needs major repairs.
• Verify real market value or neighborhood trends.
• Calculate your real monthly payment once taxes, insurance, and HOA are included.
• Spot hidden risks that could cost you thousands after closing.
That’s the job of an experienced mortgage and real estate professional — someone who knows how to translate listings into real numbers and sound decisions.

Don’t Mistake Marketing for Guidance
When you click on a “contact agent” or “get pre-approved” button inside Zillow or ChatGPT, you’re not being matched with a hand-picked expert.
You’re entering a marketing funnel.
The agents or lenders you’re connected to are typically paying for those leads. That doesn’t mean they’re bad — but it also doesn’t mean they’re right for you.
